In January 2024, my husband and I moved to Birmingham, Alabama from our home in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, where Dean was priest at St. Aidan Anglican Church for 11 years. He is now Canon Theologian at The Cathedral Church of the Advent while I do the work of adapting to a new culture and retired life.
Together, Dean and I parent three adult children of whom we are very proud. My life has been deeply shaped by years of ministry in the Indian subcontinent, in Lithuania, and as administrative staff at Regent College, Vancouver; Eston College, Saskatchewan; Cranmer Hall, University of Durham, England; and Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. I have a Bachelor of Theology.
As the wife of a New Testament scholar and priest, it has been my privilege to hear stories of great grace and of resilience in difficulty. These stories have blessed and changed me. I sing alto (as a minister’s wife should) but cannot play piano for church.
I feel most whole when I connect with God in reflective reading and prayerful writing. I feel closest to others when I connect through listening deeply and sharing laughter. I feel most myself when I connect to creation’s beauty through birdwatching, exploring new places, tending my flowers, and walking.
